Merger FAQ's

Haviland State Bank is being acquired by Bank of Protection. As we get closer to this closing, we would like to help answer any questions you might have regarding this change.

 

When will this change take place?
October 6, 2025

 

Will the bank's name change?
Yes. Haviland State Bank's name will change to Bank of Haviland.

Mullinville State Bank will be Bank of Mullinville.

 

Will there be new hours?
No. Our hours will remain the same.

 

How should I contact the bank?
Our phone numbers and personnel will remain the same. Employee email addresses will change, so please reach out to us via phone if you need updated email contacts.

 

How will I access my online banking?

Following the merger, our havilandstatebank.com website will automatically redirect you to bankofprotection.com. From there you will be able to log in as normal.

We will also have an online banking app!

 

Will my ACH transactions still go through?

Yes. ACH Deposits and withdrawals will continue to process on your account.

 

Can I keep my Haviland State Bank checks?

Checks drawn on Haviland State Bank will still be recognized and accepted for at least a year following the merger date. At your next reorder, your checks will automatically have the new routing number if ordered through us. 

 

How can I receive wires?

Our wiring instructions will change. If you need to send a wire to Bank of Haviland or Bank of Mullinville after October 6, please reach out to us for our updated wiring instructions.

 

Will I still receive account statements?

Yes. Customers will receive a final Haviland State Bank statement as of the last business day prior to the merger. Note that this might be outside of your normal statement cycle. Going forward, your statement cycle will resume as normal.
